| Taking a page from the Academy Awards, Mark Saran, President of the Lake Forest High School Foundation Board of Trustees, thanks everyone involved with the Mosaic Mural project for their outstanding collaboration toward a fabulous finished product during the mural’s unveiling on January 20, 2006.
In less than three months, this 8 ½’ x 11 ½’ wall at the end of the Arts corridor was transformed into a dynamic, multi-media Mosaic Mural, involving over 300 students across all grade levels studying Ceramics, Crafts & Design, Latin, Music and Woodworking.
The Foundation matched the Illinois Art Council’s initial funding of artist-in-residence Ginny Sykes with a grant of $8,000 last spring, and recently awarded an additional Innovation Grant for the secured DVD players and LCD projectors which help make the mural a dynamic, timeless work of art.
