Letter from the President

Dear LFHS Parents, Staff, Students and Friends,

It is with enormous gratitude that I would like to thank, on behalf of the Lake Forest High School Foundation, the many individuals within and outside of our communities for the generosity they have shown to the students and teachers of Lake Forest High School. The Lake Forest High School Foundation, during its fifth year, has continued to flourish as community awareness of its important work has grown.

The contributions we received during the 2005-06 school year enabled the Foundation to fund over $90,000 in grant awards; the highest amount awarded to date. Awards were granted across every segment of the LFHS curriculum, for which we are especially proud. This year, two of our funded efforts—the GeoSciences Bike Path Restoration and the Mosaic Mural—serve to benefit our communities as well as the LFHS student body. The Foundation received nearly $200,000 in grant requests this past year—triple the amount requested during 2004-05. We look forward to funding an even greater percentage of grant requests in 2006-07 so that our mission of enhancing, enriching and expanding learning opportunities for LFHS students, staff and communities can be realized.

My most sincere thanks to those who have supported the efforts of the Lake Forest High School Foundation in the past. I know I speak for our entire Foundation Board of Trustees in expressing our appreciation for your generosity. We look forward to your continued support again this year!

Mark F. Saran
President, Lake Forest High School Foundation
